Hey all. Those of you are in a band, or even if you aren't feel free to chip in, what kind of place do you practice in? My mate's and I who have started a band have just recently (about a month ago) upgraded from my mates house to his dad's shed for his work, which is off Bayswater road. We think it is an awesome place to chill out and have good times both playing music and just bumming around. We can crank it hard all night, because there are no nearby neighbours.
I have friends who use a practice room at On stage music, they say it's good but a little small. What kind of environment do you, or would you most like to practice in? |

Excellent, if you can get a place that's in an industrial area then that's good, lots of noise and if a great place to hang then even better. I use to practice in a big HOT shed around the Aitkenvale Post Office. It was good fun and practice always consisted of a few drinks afterwards.
Specalised practice rooms are a good idea as well, as long as they are air-conditioned, sound proofed and support a creative environment (your want to get some luxuries for your money)

I sang a couple of times with a band called Nozzle. The bass player's Dad owned a storage shed (also off of Bayswater Road), which we jammed in. Roomy, with high ceilings, and running water...it was awesome. It had a picture of a psychadelic Mona Lisa too, you know, for inspiration...
The lockable driveway (3 cars wide and 50m long) would've been awesome for a concert or jam circle. My Aunt owns a sheet metal business in Thuringowa.. The ceilings are super high and there are plenty of power outlets...another alright place to jam. I've also tried the rehearsal room at The Lab with another Band. Cheap to use...but very old...and pretty hot. Dusty too.. Losta junk around. And once a possum came into the room. Ha.
