Default Firefox and Midi Problems

Hi Danny.
I have seen that there is another thread regarding how slow firefox is and I have to agree - for some reason things do slow down on this site.
( I am running a P4 3.2 GH with HT, 1 gig ram, connecting down a 2MB broadband connection so its not the computer !)
I have worked out the plugin problems - on quictime preferences you have to go the audio tab and click on midi (close firefox first) and then the plug in works but the problem I have is after playing 1 midi - I cant play any others?, this is the same in explorer.

Interesting problem, I was not aware of this. The best bet is always use the MP3 examples. MIDI is such an outdate media and I hope to start replacing all MIDI with Flash ausio examples. I know this doesn't help now! I have found quicktime to be a dominating program and I usually install it as a last resort.

Yes I agree with that - I HATE quicktime - I had uninstalled it but had to re-install today to hear the midi files - strangely they seemed to work alright before with explorer in media player - as for using the MP3's - I would if there were any there ..lol
I am new to Mozilla firefox as a browser - I have only had it a few days - I do like it but its not quite as intergrated as explorer me thinks..

Ahh... That's right, sorry some examples on the site only use MIDI. This is added to my list of thing to improve on with the site.

My 2 bits worth....
I use Firefox all the time, except for this site which I use IE6.
I find with Firefox the browser really slows down and usually locks up after awhile.

I have had an I.E. mafunction but havn't had time to fix it so I'v been using Firefox alot on this site. I have found some great features on F.F. and have noticed a minor decrease in speed. It seem to wait until the whole page has been downloaded until the page is usable. I havn't installed the MIDI plugin yet as I will eventuall get rid of all midi examples on the site and olny use "Flash Animations".

I have noticed that the ToolTip rollovers sit behind the Flash animations which can make it annoying sometimes. Where as in I.E. the tooltip sits infront making it readable.

I am always interested to hear how this site performes on other P.C.'s

Thumbs up

Your IE malfunction, is this the one I emailed you about privately?

I've got to admit, I haven't used Firefox to open up the site for a long time.
I'm using it at the present moment and it is working as good as IE does.

Which is great.
