I've downloaded and installed Firefox and am using it right now to test out the site, it seems to be running about the same (probably a little slower but it's not that noticeable). Everything seems to look the same (I need a plug in to run the on-page midi examples though).
When I run it in safe mode it comes up with a "slow and unresponsive warning", but still seem to run OK. I'm running XP SP2 on a P4 2.4 GHz 512 MB of RAM over an ADSL modem that is currently downloading at 64k. I'm not to familiar with Firefox but it could be some of the setting in there making the site run sluggish. I do know that the newest I.E. has "security" issues with the menu script because it actively runs on your P.C. when you open up the page. Go to this page using Firefox and see if it runs ok. This is the menu used for the site. At least we can start there.

that page with the menu is running fine for me with firefox, but when i open your site, the whole menu on the home page starts off expanded and the page doesnt do anything for a while. then after about 30 seconds i get a warning telling me that a script on the page is cauzing mozilla to run slowly, and if it continues to run my computer may become unresponsive. it then asks me if i want to abort the script. if i do abort it it makes things better but it still seems to be very sluggish
im running XP SP1 on an AMD 1.29Ghz with 360 MB of RAM and i have an ADSL connection at 1.1Mbps. ive had a bit of a play around with some of firefox's settings, but nothing really seems to make any difference |
