i can play it down tempod, like cut in half

are there any exercises or anything that will get me better at sliding around the fretboard?
Well, I suggest you try playing it REALLY slow. Set your metronome to a ridiculously slow tempo and start there, giving full attention to the movement of your fretting hand as it moves around the fretboard. Then, increase the tempo a little--maybe by 10 bpm, not more. Cause at this point, you're not trying to go fast, you're just trying to internalize the movement of your hand and the distance that it has to travel to get to the desired note. I think that eventually, you'll just 'know' where your hand has got to go.

As for an exercise that could help you, try picking a note and playing that note on every string, one after the other. For example, for the F note, you'd go 6th string/1st fret, 6th string/13th fret, 5th string/8th fret, 4th string/3rd fret, 4th string/15th fret, ect. You can also skip strings, for extra challenge. Not only will this help you slide around the fretboard but at the same time, it helps you learn to localize notes much faster.

Let me know how you're doing!
