As reading and learning from your computer is usually slower,
I have tried where ever possible to keep the text down to a minimum. There
is nothing worse than reading through pages of text trying to learn something
that can be easily described by one picture, animation or movie.
All lessons through out this site have been developed by
you, the learner. Over the many years I have been teaching, I have come
across the same questions asked by students when showing them how to play
different styles, songs, rhythm patterns, scales and techniques. Although
no two students were ever the same they all had similar difficulties with
certain songs or styles. I have tried to lay out all lessons in this style,
but you are unique, so if there is anything you don't understand in a
lesson, e-mail (
) me about your confusion with that lesson and I will see if that lesson’s
contents need reviewing and restructuring to make it more understandable.
What This Site Is :
A step by step learning tool for you to be an accomplished guitarist
What This Site Is Not :
A Tablature site with thousands of popular tabs. (If you want a tab
site then go to google.com and type in the name of the song you would like followed by the word "tab")
A “learn how to play guitar in one day” site. (If you
want to do something right then take the time to learn it properly. There are NO quick fixes to learning the guitar!)
Navigating Around The Site
The navigation for this site is set out the same as you computer's file browser
(Windows Explorer or File Manager).
iNavigate Menus
The iNavigate Tree (explorer-style) menus dynamically expands and
collapses interactively with the user, providing a simple and intuitive
navigational system.
Navigation Aids
Try Them Out
To the top left of the page you will see these "Navigation
Aids" you can open or close all menus with a single click
.
Locate the page you're on .You
can move up or down through the menu structure one page at a time
.
Page Bottom Navigation
At the bottom of each lesson page you will see these 3 icons. This site
is set up to learn one lesson at a time taking you from a total beginners
level up to an advanced stage of playing. By clicking the "Next Lesson"
icon you will always progress to the next level of playing and not skip
anything.
Printing Pages
Some pages contain animations to better explain
a lesson, which makes it difficult to print. When you see this at
the bottom of a page, click on it and this link will take you to a
still page for you to print and view at a later date.
MP3 Narration
Sometimes when learning, things make more sense
when read to you. That is the idea of the narration aid. You can either play them directly from the page or download an MP3.
Where Should You Start ?
Well the first thing you need to do is subscribe (Here). If you have never played the guitar before now, then start in the"Beginners
Lessons" section. Treat the pages like a book and go from left
to right, then top to bottom. Each new lesson will assume that you have
learnt the previous one.
If you have played before, then browse through the beginning until you
reach a part that doesn't make sense or you haven't learnt before, and
then make that your starting point for this site.
Testimonials: I was going
to set up a full testimonial page, but let's face it how would you know
if they were real? If you want to know what people think of this site
then simply read the "Guest
Book Page" or the Forum remarks. Then you'll get the good, the bad, and the just
plain strange.
This site has been operating for the last 3 years in a test run stage
(free access). Some of the guest book messages may seem irrelevant.
