Guitar Tutor Online Tour
 |
Danny Poole has been playing the
guitar since 1984 and started teaching in 1990 (more
info...). He has helped over a thousand students
develop their guitar playing skills to the level they wanted.
He has created this site around his teaching methods, designed
to give you the basic necessities to get you started and get
you playing as quickly as possible. |
What happens when an experienced musician turns geek? The creation
of one of the most comprehensive, structured guitar tutor websites:
guitartutoronline.com
When Danny Poole decide to explore web page design as something
to do for kicks, he never imagined he would have on average 150
people a week registering at his guitar tutor web site. It is
hardly surprising – he is an accomplished musician with
over 15 years of teaching experience.
The results are a true testament to his ability, and to the power
of the internet - a small town Australian, with a wealth of talent,
taking his knowledge and passionate teaching style to the world.
Many
a late night can be spent searching for guitar websites, and there
are a plethora of sites that promise to have you playing like
a pro in less than 15 minutes. While Danny Poole’s site
promises nothing like this, it will have you playing like a pro
if you’re willing to stick to it like a pro.
Guitar Tutor Online offers structured lessons for the beginner,
intermediate and soon, advanced players, and is supported by clear
visuals and samples, setting it apart from the common user based
websites.
A message from Danny Poole: Everybody is an individual and no
one student can really be taught 100% the same way, however
they can be categorised into different groups. For example,
an impulsive person would more than likely go for the "Learn
the Guitar in 7 Days" approach. Other people like to
do a lot of research before they commit themselves to anything,
and when they learn they want to know the reason why all
the time.
These are the two extremes of the scale,
and if you decide to teach yourself how to play, then honestly
ask where you fit in between these two extremes and how
much effort you want to put into learning. Wanting to learn
too quickly will make you a shallow guitarist. You may look
great playing all the latest, coolest songs, but would you
know how to deconstruct that song and figure how the writer
came about to create it? You wouldn't know what key the
song is in, or what scale to use if you wanted to improvise
over it.
Being too thorough with your playing
can stunt your ability to perform in front of people and
progress at a good pace to the next level. Mainly because
you want to be perfect with your performance and ability
before you move on.
Remember: Success in the world of music, and ability to play the guitar
are two separate things. Do you know anyone that plays just
as good as someone famous? Why do you think they’re
not as famous..?
Don't think just because you're not
recognised or famous you then must be a poor guitarist.
Not true..(Ability v. Success)
